The City Council has announced a new grant scheme of **€35,000** to support the organization of sports events throughout 2026. The funding is aimed at local sports associations and federations that arrange official competitions and activities in the municipality.

Supporting local sports clubs

Councillor for Sports, Diana Box, emphasised that the initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen Torrevieja’s image as a dynamic sports city and to boost sports tourism, which brings both economic benefits and more activity to the municipality.
