Guided tours and brain workshops engaged students and families in science and conservation.
Torrevieja’s Natural History Museum celebrated European Researchers’ Night with guided tours and interactive brain workshops from September 19 to 28.
Students and families explored the museum’s iconic marine specimens — including dolphins, whales, and turtles — while learning about environmental education, habitat-forming species, and the importance of conservation.
During the brain workshops, participants discovered similarities between humans and dolphins and learned how brain studies are conducted, featuring real research materials and imaging provided by scientists from the Institute of Neurosciences of Alicante.
The activities were led by biologist and neuroscientist María Luisa Molina and funded by Miguel Hernández University of Elche, with support from Torrevieja’s Departments of Culture, Education, Tourism, and Parks and Gardens.
