Tree pruning, new planters, and school green areas are part of the city’s summer maintenance plan
Torrevieja City Council, through its Parks and Gardens Department and contractor Actúa, has rolled out a wide-ranging plan to maintain and improve public spaces across the municipality. Recent works include pruning trees and shrubs, clearing garden areas, repositioning curbs, repairing drains, repainting benches, and refreshing seasonal flowers to add vibrancy to key parks and walkways.
In addition, 150 decorative planters have been installed in central locations such as Plaza de la Constitución and streets Ramón Gallud, Concepción and Patricio Pérez. These initiatives not only enhance the urban landscape but also reinforce Torrevieja’s image as a city committed to environmental care and urban wellbeing.
Authorities highlighted the added challenge of maintaining green areas during the summer heat, stressing their focus on both plant conservation and worker safety. To improve transparency, the Parks and Gardens department now shares real-time updates on pruning, watering, planting, and cleaning through official profiles on Facebook, Instagram and X, encouraging public participation.
In the coming weeks, the city will carry out palm tree pruning and prepare school green areas ahead of the new academic year, further underscoring its commitment to keeping Torrevieja’s public spaces safe, attractive and sustainable throughout the year.
