Over 200 participants from 45 organizations will unite to strengthen inclusion and cooperation
The Federation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities of Alicante (COCEMFE Alicante), together with APANEE and Torrevieja City Council, has announced the XI Provincial Meeting of Associations, scheduled for Saturday, May 31. The event will gather more than 200 representatives from 45 associations across the province to promote collaboration, defend the rights of people with disabilities, and highlight Torrevieja as a leading destination for accessible tourism.
The presentation, held at Torrevieja’s Town Hall, featured Councilor Trudy Páez, COCEMFE President Cristina Esclapés, and APANEE President María José Sánchez. All emphasized the importance of strengthening networks between organizations, sharing best practices, and working towards a fairer and more inclusive society. Páez expressed gratitude to COCEMFE for choosing Torrevieja to host a day dedicated to accessibility and inclusion, while Esclapés underlined the federation’s commitment to improving quality of life through collaborative projects.
The program will start at 9:30 a.m. on Paseo Vista Alegre, followed by a guided city tour, a boat ride in the bay, and a visit to Torrevieja’s salt flats. The day will conclude with a communal lunch at the Municipal Leisure Center, offering participants an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore future joint initiatives.
Supported by the City Council, the Alicante Provincial Council, and the Valencian Government’s Department of Social Services, Equality and Housing, the meeting continues COCEMFE’s mission to ensure active participation and equal rights for people with physical and organic disabilities throughout Alicante.
