The Salinera Court and city representatives joined the 40th edition of Asturias’ major livestock fair.
A delegation from Torrevieja, including the Salinera Court and councillors Rosario Martínez and Concha Sala, was welcomed at the Town Hall of Pola de Siero by Mayor Ángel Antonio García and councillors Ana Rosa Nosti and Patricia Antuña.
During the meeting, both towns highlighted their long-standing friendship dating back to 1957, when the “Siero Musical” choir took part in Torrevieja’s third Habaneras Contest. Deputy mayor Rosario Martínez presented a tray of local salt products, while the hosts offered “Lacasitos” sweets produced in Siero.
The delegation later attended the opening of the 40th “Agrosiero” livestock fair, joined by Asturias’ regional minister for Rural Affairs, Marcelino Marcos, and Valdés Mayor Óscar Pérez. The visit once again reflected the strong bond and mutual affection between Siero and Torrevieja that has lasted for seven decades.
