Activities from September 16–22 promote safe, sustainable transport for all ages
The city council has unveiled its programme for European Mobility Week 2025, running from September 16 to 22 under the theme “Mobility for all.” The initiative aims to raise awareness about sustainable transport and road safety, inviting residents of all ages to join free activities in Torrevieja and La Mata.
From Tuesday to Friday (September 16–19), children can enjoy open sessions at the Local Police Traffic Park from 17:00 to 19:00 with fun and educational safety workshops. On Saturday, September 20, La Mata’s Plaza Encarnación Puchol will host mobility-themed games, workshops and a mini traffic park from 11:00 to 13:00.
Sunday, September 21, will feature a major Mobility Day celebration on Paseo Vistalegre from 10:30 to 13:00, including bike circuits, eco-transport games and hands-on activities. Later, from 17:00 to 20:00, central streets will close to cars for “Car-Free Day,” turning the city into a safe, family-friendly space. Attendees can also win bicycles in raffles organised by the Department of Security and Emergencies.
The council encourages everyone to take part and help promote greener, safer ways of getting around.
