Torrevieja Prepares School Green Areas for New Term

City Council completes maintenance works in all public schools ahead of the 2025/26 academic year

Torrevieja City Council, through its Parks and Gardens Service and contractor Actúa, has completed a full maintenance program of green areas in all public schools to ensure they are ready for the 2025/26 school year. The work, carried out in the second half of August, included pruning, mowing, clearing, cleaning, and irrigation system checks, providing safer and more pleasant spaces for students, teachers, and families.

The schools covered include CEIP Virgen del Carmen, Inmaculada Concepción, Cuba, El Acequión, Maestro Salvador Ruso, Romualdo Ballester, Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Las Culturas, Habaneras, Ciudad del Mar, Amanecer, and CEIP nº 14.

Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Concha Sala, highlighted the importance of these efforts, which in most cases improve shared community spaces that also serve as “small green lungs” within each school. The municipal service is also preparing new maintenance projects across the city to be launched during autumn and winter, reinforcing care for parks, gardens, and urban trees throughout Torrevieja.
