The National Short Film Festival will take place on September 5–6 at the Municipal Theatre with free admission
The 10th edition of the National Short Film Festival Torrevieja Audiovisual 2025 will be held on September 5 and 6 at the Municipal Theatre. According to the presentation by Culture Councillor Antonio Quesada and filmmaker Lidiana Rodríguez, the festival has become one of Spain’s most respected showcases for short films, closing the summer season in Torrevieja with a curated program of cinematic gems from the past two years.
This year’s competition features ten works — five in Animation and five in Fiction — including “Obra de Arte” by Rafael Nieto, “El Principito Oscar” by Miguel González & Valérie Joly, “Leonardo” by Meka Ribera & Álvaro G. Company, “Bright” by Ana Tirado & Caterina de Marchis, “Lo Natural” by Rafael Nieto, “Sweet Cabanyal” by Anna Juesas & Sonia Sánchez, “Conexiones Inesperadas” by Oscar Toribio, “Retrato de D.” by María Lorenzo, “Faustino” by Germán Mairen, and “Lights” by Aitana Cantero & María Isabel Saiz.
The professional jury includes Susan Béjar, David Valero, María Lorenzo, Carlos Gómez-Mira Sagrado, and Paola García-Sanjuán Machado. Screenings will be in Spanish with English subtitles, and admission is free with invitations available via @TorreviejaAudiovisual on Instagram and Facebook until August 1, or directly at the theatre box office before each screening. Programs are recommended for ages 12+ on Friday and 10+ on Saturday, making this a family-friendly event and an annual highlight for cinema lovers on the Costa Blanca.
