First edition in the city brings 20 gourmet burger food trucks to compete for Spain’s top title
Torrevieja will host The Champions Burger for the first time from August 20 to September 7 at Parque Antonio Soria, transforming the venue into a hub for gourmet burger lovers. Nearly 20 food trucks will compete for the title of “Best Burger in Spain,” offering exclusive creations that fuse tradition and innovation. Highlights include a neon-lit entrance inspired by American highways and appearances from renowned names like Gottan Grill, current champion of Spain and Europe.
Mayor Eduardo Dolón emphasized the event’s economic and tourism boost, while Youth Councillor Domingo Paredes noted its role in placing Torrevieja on Spain’s gastronomic map. Visitors will decide the winners via a QR-based voting system, rating bread, meat, ingredients, presentation, and originality. The top 35 burger spots from the national route will advance to the December grand final, which will also crown Europe’s best burger.
Admission is free, with opening hours from 18:00 to 00:00 Monday to Thursday, and 12:00 to 00:00 Friday to Sunday.
