Michelin-star chefs and local restaurateurs unite to celebrate creativity, flavor, and the essence of Vega Baja.
The first edition of DESAL Torrevieja has been officially inaugurated by Mayor Eduardo Dolón and Valencian Tourism Councillor Marian Cano, together with provincial and local representatives. The event transforms Torrevieja into a vibrant culinary stage where top chefs, local producers, and restaurateurs showcase the best of Mediterranean gastronomy.
Held from October 17 to 19 at Finca Victoria Garden (former Salones Bahía Costa), DESAL brings together acclaimed names such as Kiko Moya (L’Escaleta, Cocentaina – 2 Michelin Stars), Alberto Ferruz (BonAmb, Jávea – 2 Michelin Stars), Rafael Soler (Audrey’s, Calpe – 1 Michelin Star), Joaquín Baeza Rufete (Alicante – 1 Michelin Star), and Vicky Sevilla (Arrels, Sagunto – 1 Michelin Star), among others.
Each day features live cooking demonstrations and tasting sessions highlighting regional ingredients — particularly Torrevieja’s sea salt, the festival’s central theme. Local restaurants including Las Columnas, La Mar de Bien, Luz de Mar, HB, Bianco, La Galería de la Mirada, Las Cañas, Misto, and Mr. Cover Lab also present signature creations.
From contemporary reinterpretations of traditional rice dishes to innovative desserts made with Torrevieja salt and La Mata grapes, DESAL celebrates the link between local heritage and haute cuisine. The festival positions Torrevieja as a new reference point for gastronomic tourism on the Costa Blanca.
