Practical classes to help international residents improve their everyday Spanish skills
The Department of International Residents in Torrevieja, led by councillor Gitte Lund Thomsen, has announced new Spanish language courses aimed at helping foreign residents improve their oral and written skills.
Starting in October, the programme will offer six groups of around 15 students each — four beginner levels and two intermediate. Each course includes 32 hours of lessons over eight weeks, with two-hour sessions. Classes will be available in three time slots: 9:00–11:00, 12:00–14:00 and 16:00–18:00.
Enrollment is open from Monday, September 8, to September 22. Applications can be submitted in person at the PROP office next to Torrevieja Town Hall or at the La Mata peripheral office on Plaza Gaspar Perelló (no appointment needed, 8:30–13:30), or online through the city’s electronic platform (www.torrevieja.sedeelectronica.es) using a digital signature.
The courses are free for registered international residents in Torrevieja. They are provided by the Be Magic academy under a three-year contract worth €60,000 (20,000 annually). While the courses will not issue official certification, they are designed to help residents handle everyday and professional situations in Spanish more confidently.
