10 young participants completed a year-long paid administrative training as part of the EU-backed “Barco de Sal” project.
The city of Torrevieja has concluded the mixed training and employment program “T’avalem – Barco de Sal,” which offered 10 young people under 30 a full year of paid work combined with certified administrative training. The initiative was co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Generalitat Valenciana through LABORA.
Participants earned two official professional certificates and received additional instruction in workplace safety, gender equality, environmental awareness, and job readiness. The program combined morning internships in local government offices with afternoon classes at the CIAJ Youth Center.
Activities also included visits to historical archives, job fairs, and workshops on documentation and customer service, along with participation in awareness campaigns such as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Councillor Domingo Paredes praised the group’s commitment and emphasized the city’s ongoing support for youth employment and career development initiatives.
